Dr. Sajan Raj Kurup is an Emmy-nominated producer, creative entrepreneur and media and cultural institution builder whose work spans entertainment, advertising, publishing, technology, culture and investment.
He is the Founder and Chairman of Creativeland Worldwide Limited and Founder and Creative Chairman of Creativeland Studios Entertainment, through which he is building globally ambitious entertainment and intellectual property originating from India. He is also Chairman and Publisher of Rolling Stone India and Founder and President of the Vedic Bharat Foundation.
Kurup began his career as a copywriter in 1996, going on to hold creative leadership roles at Leo Burnett, Lowe Lintas and Grey Worldwide before leaving his position as Executive Creative Director at Grey to found Creativeland Asia in 2007.
What began at his dining table grew into one of India’s prominent independent creative enterprises, working with brands including Mercedes-Benz, Audi, Godrej, or Domino’s, Pizza Hut, Café Coffee Day and Parle Agro. Over the years, Kurup expanded Creativeland beyond advertising into a wider ecosystem spanning entertainment, publishing, technology, esports, brand incubation and investment.
Today, cinema and entertainment sit at the centre of his next chapter.
Kurup is the producer of Krishnavataram, a Creativeland Studios production conceived as an epic cinematic trilogy exploring Krishna through love, duty, sacrifice and the human experience. His international production work includes serving as Executive Producer on the Warner Bros./HBO documentary The Commandant’s Shadow, which was nominated at the 2025 News & Documentary Emmy Awards.
His work increasingly converges around storytelling, entrepreneurship, consciousness, Indian knowledge traditions and cultural preservation. He was conferred an Honorary Doctorate (Honoris Causa) in Vedic Science, Consciousness and Human Development by Maharishi European Research University (MERU), Switzerland.
Across his ventures, Kurup’s larger pursuit is the creation of enduring institutions and intellectual property at the intersection of creativity, culture, consciousness and commerce, with India as their point of origin and the world as their stage.

With ventures into film production and content creation across platforms, his most recent investment was 'The Commandant's Shadow' as an Executive Producer on the documentary film by Warner Brothers Pictures in association with HBO Documentary Films. Some other critically acclaimed films produced by Sajan Raj Kurup are Miya Biwi Aur Murder and Karmayogi. His passion for storytelling drives Creativeland Studio, to create immersive narratives that resonate with audiences worldwide. His Studio also announced their joint venture with Artist International Group (AIG) to create a platform that supports Indian artists in reaching international audiences and achieving global recognition, while also orchestrating collaborations for international talent in the Indian subcontinent

In 1996, Raj founded Saintfarm Agro LLP, India’s first affordable 100% organic food company. Saintfarm integrates farming, processing, R&D, exports, and domestic retailing. Certified for EU, USDA NOP, and Indian NPOP standards, Saintfarm aims to unite 15,000 farmers nationwide.

Where Creativity Meets Commerce
Sajan Raj Kurup, an Indian entrepreneur and visionary, began his journey at St. Xavier’s College, Ahmedabad, where he graduated with an Honors degree in Mathematical Economics. However, he chose to follow his passion for creativity, dropping out of business school to embark on a different path.
In 1996, Raj started his creative career as a Senior Copywriter with the DDB Mudra group. His talent caught the attention of industry giants, and he soon became the Creative Director at Leo Burnett Worldwide. Later, he contributed his expertise to Lowe Lintas and Grey Worldwide, where he served as the Executive Creative Director.
It was in 2007 that Sajan Raj Kurup founded Creativeland Asia. His vision? To create a platform where creative minds could collaborate, designing solutions that forge strong relationships between brands and consumers. Creativeland Asia has since worked with prestigious brands like Netflix, Godrej, Pizza Hut, Adidas, Cinthol, Domino’s Pizza, Audi India, Mercedes Benz, and many multinational brands.
Beyond advertising, Raj’s interests extend to holistic well-being. A spiritual seeker, he spends time practicing yoga and meditation and pursuing his PhD. in Vedic Science.
